Reflecting recently on my 35 years as an artist it has been quit a ride. Dedicated to an old craft, learning from a box of dusty old book and a few kindred spirits I forged out a living.
Creating art has been the thread that binds the patchwork fabric of my life. It is the one constant in an ever changing world. Creating art is not a job it is more of a way of life. At times it can be very difficult and frustrating. Sometime it flow out like water over a falls. Creativity seem to ebb and flow like the tides, influenced by the moon, the seasons, and the passions of the heart.
I have grown to appreciate the responsibility that comes with the freedom of expression. Each day is a blank canvas, each project a reflection of your integrity, passion, and dedication to be the best. You got to leave everything on the table at the end of each day. Trust yourself, test yourself, lay it down without hesitation. When its done, its done… On to the next. Really love this quote by Hunter Thompson.
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!” Hunter S. Thompson
