I have always found writing difficult. Every artist statement I’ve written seems lacking in one way or another. My office manager Melanie laugh and rolls her eyes when I write an email because it take several drafts before I am satisfied. I am always looking for the right words. My grandfather was an editor of a newspaper in Detroit back in the 30’s, my mother was bilingual and a stickler for grammar. I never got the hang of it.
The desire to express my feelings led me to becoming an artist. However there are a great deal of thoughts and feeling better expressed in words. To help me express some of these ideas I will, from time to time, use a quote. This quote by John Lennon expresses a core belief of mine and is so beautify written.
If you’d like, share you thoughts, or if your like me share a quote.
“There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.” John Lennon
